William "Bill" Byers

Retirement means Bill can now seriously pursue his love of painting. Totally self-taught, Bill comes from a deep seated family tradition. Artistic talent is something shared with his grandfather and uncle who painted mostly for enjoyment.

Bill’s work is characterized by the use of deep, rich, color and attention to fine detail. Mr. Byers detailed images are captured using a variety of media including oil, acrylic, prisma pencil, pastel and wood carving. Many of his paintings are commissions of show dogs and pets. The dominant subject in Bill’s paintings and drawings is nature, paying special attention to animals, their habitat and our relationships with them. His paintings and prints can be found in many private collections around the world.

Bill is a juried member of the Rivertown Artists Guild, NCCA-Artsplace, and Artworks in Big Rapids.
