Cathryn is from Ann Arbor and is an Associate Professor at Eastern Michigan University. Her work combines design technology with the craftsmanship of hand weaving. She designs and plots her weaving patterns using computerized design software and then hand weaves her patterns using up to eight different shuttles to create weftback weaves and brocade areas in her pieces. Her abstract design combined with portrait or figure weaving makes an outstanding impression in this contemporary weavers work.

Cathryn has recently finished up her sabbatical in Norway and brought some of her exciting new work to this exhibition.
