Enjoy a collection of woodwork from artisans and craftsmen throughout West Michigan and beyond. Coming Out of the Woodwork embraces a wide prism of what artisans can do with nature’s most stunning natural resource: wood turning, wood burning, parquetry, scroll work, joining, carving, marqueterie as applies to sculpture, furniture, bas relief as well as a wide array of other decorative and functional wood artwork.

In addition to a variety of wood artwork on display, there will be photographs about the various processes, showing specialized tools, traditions and skills involved. This exhibit includes examples and informative displays about the different wood species available, their characteristics and what purpose they might be used in a various wood working projects.
