Hollie Benson
Hollie has
been creating for her own business, Hollie’s Hands, over 12 years. Jewelry
making and art in general has been a family tradition of which Hollie has
participated most of her life. Graduate of the University of Michigan Hollie
also uses her elementary education degree to teach third grade for the
Shelby Public school district.
Her jewelry is
inspired by the residents on their small Fremont farm including horses,
goat, cats and dogs. Hollie uses sterling silver, brass, copper and her own
hand made glass beads to create her whimsical pins, necklaces earrings and
bracelets.
In addition to
fine jewelry, Hollie hand paints silk scarves marketed under the Queen B’s
label. These scarfs are similar to her unique jewelry because they also
feature fun, playful themes often including nature, dogs, cats, horses,
birds and the like. Hollie’s one of a kind pieces and the work of other area
artists are availalbe in the NCCA’s Artist Market area, downtown Fremont.
