Ages 16+ $90 ($85 Members)
Learn to use the wheel! Develop the techniques of centering the clay, pulling up the sides, trimming, and finally glazing your own clay pieces. In between sessions students are encouraged to work in our pottery place and practice these techniques on their own. Class limited to 3.

Starting with a slab of clay these students will use texture tools and sculpting techniques to design their own pizza slices. Pick up projects after April 14.

In this class these little artists will play with clay, learn some simple techniques and then make a handprint tile. Pick up tiles after April 14.

 

Art of the Bonsai Pot

Art of the Bonsai Pot
Sat., March 4 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Ages 16+ $60 ($55 Members)
Use traditional shapes, proportions, and learn about the proper drainage and wiring holes needed to create your own Bonsai pot! Use pinch, coil and slab techniques with high fire clay to complete one miniature bonsai and one medium bonsai pot. Have your pots ready for exciting Bonsai classes to come in March and April led by members of the West Michigan Bonsai Club!

Have a little fun making these miniature fimo clay sushi plates and bento boxes! Miniatures are a very exciting artform to explore. Each student will make at least three miniature fimo sculptures that will be oven baked and ready to take home the same day!

Using basic clay sculpting techniques students will form a bird that will be able to hang in a special place in their homes. Birds can be picked up after firing.
