Inspire Art for TEENS – August 14 – Fused Glass Nightlight

Tuesdays 3:00 – 5:30 p.m.

Class Fee $10 per class.

Ages 13-18.

This series of classes is designed with busy teenagers in mind. Sign up for one class or attend each week for the whole summer! Let your creativity shine while learning new techniques for jewelry making, painting, glasswork and mixed media.

Fused Glass Pendant with Hollie Benson

Thursday 6:00-8:00 p.m. July 19, 26

Class Fee: $50 ($45 Members)

Ages 16-Adult

In this class students will learn the art of glass fusing using multiple colors of fusing glass and dichroic patterned glass. The first week will start with simple glass cutting techniques and layering of glass pieces. The following week students will learn to cut channels into their pieces and wrap them with wire.

Christmas In July – Fused Glass Ornaments

Thursday, July 12, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Class Fee: $30 ($25 Members)

Ages 16-Adult

Spend a summer evening discovering the art of glass fusing. In this class you will learning to cut glass and use frit and stringers in your creations. Prepare to make at least four ornaments. After the fusing process the ornaments will be ready for pick up after July 26.

Fused Glass Panels with Linda Moore

Thursday 6:00-8:00 p.m. June 14, 21

Class Fee: $60 ($55 Members)

Ages 16-Adult

Come and try glass fusing with glass artist, Linda Moore. Each student will create two 6” x 6” panels of fused glass that when finished will be layered in a wood stand to give the illusion of depth. Whether it is a birch forest, field of flowers or your own idea the technique is exciting. Pieces will be available for pick up after June 28. Start planning where you will display this unique piece in your home.

INSPIRE – Classes for Teens – November 9 Fused Glass Ornaments

Thursdays 3:45-5:15 p.m. Ages 12-18
Class Fee $10 These classes are funded in part by a grant from the FACF Youth Advisory Committee.
These exciting and exploratory art classes are designed to give middle and high school students a chance to learn about art styles and mediums they might not get in a classroom. All materials provided. December 7 & 14 Portfolio Building requires students attend both days.
September 21 Glass Bead Making
Using Italian glass rods and hot head torches students will create several unique glass beads to fit a leather cuff.
September 28 Silver Clay
Cristine Grim will teach students the process of using silver clay, texture tools, and torch firing to create a silver pendant.
October 5 Needle Felted Bat with Olivia
Fiber artist Olivia Johnson will help students use felting needles, wool roving and embroidery materials to create a flying bat for Halloween festivities!
October 19 Theatrical Makeup
A paint based method of creating optical illusion, depth, and dramatic character on the human face. Students will work on themselves in addition to watching a live model demonstration. Just in time for costume planning!
November 9 Fused Glass Ornaments
Using glass cutting tools, frit, stringers and a wide variety of fusible glass, students will make two of their own unique ornaments to be fired in the kiln.
November 30 Silk Painting
A great gift idea, or a fashion accessory for fall, students will use resist and dye to paint a long silk scarf.
December 7 & 14 Portfolio Building
To prepare for college applications, scholarships and exhibits, artists need a good portfolio. Participants need to bring artwork to photograph, a resume and will complete a physical portfolio and a digital portfolio on a flash drive. Must attend both days!

Fused Glass Sun Catcher/Wind Chimes with Linda Moore

Just in time for the coming summer is a colorful fused glass suncatcher/wind chime. In this class Linda will give instruction in cutting glass, and creatively layering colors in preparation for the fusing process. The second week will be spent drilling holes and assembling the fused pieces into a unique art piece using wire and beads. Are you ready to try this exciting art form?

Fused Glass Wind Chimes with Linda Moore

Thursday, August 6  6:00-9:00 p.m. and

Thursday, August 13 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Class Fee: $60 ($55 Members) Ages 14- Adult

In this class the beauty of glass and the delicate sound of a wind chime will be combined in a unique art piece. During the first class students will select from a variety of vivid colors of glass and use glass cutting tools to cut and design their own wind chimes. The pieces will then be fused off site in a kiln. The following week the wind chime will be assembled with wire and beads. Come and check out the possibilities. No prior experience is required.
