INSPIRE – Classes for Teens – March 7 – Polymer Clay Boxes

These classes are funded in part by a grant from the FACF Youth Advisory Committee. These exciting and exploratory art classes are designed to give middle and high school students a chance to learn about art styles and mediums they might not get in a classroom. All materials provided.

In the Polymer Clay Boxes class, students will be using polymer clay students will create magical designs on the outside and inside if they choose, of a metal box. Follow the style of master artists or choose to make your own unique design. Presses, stamps, and die cutters will be used to aid in creating your unique treasure box!

INSPIRE – Classes for Teens – February 21 – Van Gogh Ceramic Plate & Cup

In the Van Gogh Ceramic Plate & Cup class, students will be using the bold impressionistic strokes of Vincent Van Gogh, participants will glaze a platter and dip bowl to recreate in bright glazes a moon and stars image made famous in Starry Night.

In the Silver Clay Class, Cristine Grimm will teach students the process of using silver clay, texture tools, and torch firing to create a silver pendant.

These classes are funded in part by a grant from the FACF Youth Advisory Committee. These exciting and exploratory art classes are designed to give middle and high school students a chance to learn about art styles and mediums they might not get in a classroom. All materials provided.

In the Leather Tooled ID Case Class with Roxanne Middleton, students will be using tools to stamp, draw and shade designs into leather. Each participant will each create a one of a kind ID wallet. Led by Roxanne Middleton, with decades of teaching leather working classes.

In the Wire Sculpture Tree class, students will be using pliers, beads, found objects and wire, students will create a beautiful tree of life design wrapped into a frame ready to hang!

Inspire – Classes for Teens – December 13 – Acrylic Painting

Thursday, December 13 from 3:45-5:15 p.m.

Ages 12-18

These classes are funded in part by a grant from the FACF Youth Advisory Committee. These exciting and exploratory art classes are designed to give middle and high school students a chance to learn about art styles and mediums they might not get in a classroom. All materials provided.

In this class, participants will create a winter inspired landscape on an artists canvas using acrylic painting techniques. Wash, dry brush, spattering and masking will all be techniques demonstrated and applied during this beginner level acrylic painting class.
