Snowshoe Making with Alan Wernette, Ludington State Park Interpreter

In this class, instructor Alan Wernette, will guide you through the steps to make top-of-the-line traditional wooden snowshoes that will get you through the deep snowfalls and last for generations. Students will use pre-formed wooden frames, lacing, and high quality bindings. Snowshoeing is inexpensive and a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

We know that the snow is on its way so prepare for a winter adventure! If you can walk, you can snowshoe. This low impact exercise is great for all ages. Under the guidance of Alan Wernette, Ludington State Park Interpreter, each student will complete a pair of medium- sized Huron style snowshoes with neoprene lacings and bindings. With proper care these snowshoes will satisfy hikers for decades to come! All materials provided.
