The Ultimate Summer Art Challenge

Monday, July 9 – Thursday, July 12,

Ages 9-12.

This class is for the student that is not afraid of a challenge. Each day students will be given a new task and a choice of materials. Perhaps it will be a building constructed from cardboard and found objects or a sculpture from wood and wire. Keep your creative brain charged over the summer and accept this challenge.

Like An Artist – Discovering American Artists

Monday, July 16 – Thursday, July 19,

Ages 9-12.

This is the summer to discover the art of American artists. From a farmer and his daughter to a blue dog, American artists are fun and original. Learn to recognize their style and understand what inspired them. Create paintings and sculptures that honor their work.

Monday, July 16 – Thursday, July 19.

3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Ages 8-12.

Illustrator, Scott Rosema, has used his talents to work for the best in the industry, from Disney to D.C. Comics and Marvel. He will help guide students through comic illustration. Students will sketch out an idea, ink images to illustrate their own panel and be part of a class book! A pencil, pen, and sketch set will be sent home with each student to encourage them to keep illustrating!

The Summer of Horses

1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Ages 9-12.

Hear the sound of a galloping horse? Students in this class will discover the beauty of horses, drawing horses, sculpting horses out of clay, creating a mixed media horse theme collage. Horses have been part of our culture being carved, sculpted, drawn and painted for thousands of years, since before recorded history!

Find your passport and pack your bags for a trip to the other side of the world. In this class students will explore the cultures of the Asian continent. From clay sculptures to colorful celebrations; be prepared to appreciate these interesting cultures.
