SUMMARY:Dogwood Lobby Gallery Exhibit: Photography by Don Speezia
DESCRIPTION:Dogwood Lobby Gallery Exhibit: \nPhotography by Don Speezia \nAugust 12 – October 17\nDogwood Center for Performing Arts Lobby Gallery\, 4734 S. Campus Ct.\, Fremont\, 231-924-8885\nDon Spezia’s photographic work explores the intersection of nature\, light\, form\, and chance. Drawn to landscapes\, wildlife\, architecture\, and abstract details found in everyday surroundings\, he seeks to capture moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. Working primarily outdoors\, he is inspired by the changing conditions of the natural world and the unexpected visual discoveries that emerge through observation and timing. \nRather than pursuing predetermined images\, Spezia embraces a responsive approach to photography\, allowing subjects and compositions to reveal themselves organically. His work has been included in numerous juried exhibitions and has received multiple awards\, including a Purchase Award from the Muskegon Museum of Art and recognition in the “Abstract Matters” exhibition at 311 Gallery in Raleigh\, North Carolina. \nAn architect by profession\, Spezia brings a designer’s sensitivity to structure\, composition\, and spatial relationships to his photographic practice. He is also a musician and composer of original guitar instrumentals\, with his photography featured in the artwork and packaging of all eight of his independently released music albums. \nBased in Michigan\, Spezia continues to create photographs that celebrate the beauty and serendipity of the world around us. More of Don’s work can be found at donspezia-friznicmusic.com. \nShare this:ShareFacebookTwitterPrintEmailLinkedInPinterest
