Main St.\, Fremont\, 231-924-4022 \nAs part of this TrueNorth community program\, Newaygo County middle and high school students took part in a six-day immersion taking them to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Seney National Wildlife Refuge in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Teachers and parents of children from the Newaygo County area submitted artwork from school children Kindergarten through 6th grade. Selected entries along with 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place awards\, and honorable mentions\, will be on display in the Jansma Gallery at NCCA-Artsplace! \nAward announcements will be posted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday\, March 6\, 2026 at www.ncca- artsplace.org and Facebook @NCCA-Artsplace. Winning students will be given a certificate\, ribbon and art supplies! Winning artwork will be returned to the schools with student recognition and prizes the week of April 13. DESCRIPTION:Attention all creators in Newaygo County! You are invited to participate in an exhibition\, a spotlight if you will\, of artists working and living in Newaygo County! If you create art and you’re in Newaygo County we want to know about it!\n\n• Submit 1-3 pieces in any medium 3D\, 2D\, drawing\, painting\, photography\, printmaking\, wood carving\, clay\, resin\, furniture\, boat making\, paddle making\, rod tying\, fly tying\, weaving\, mosaic work\, stained glass\, metal work or mixed media. Art must fit through our doors.\n\n• Drop Off Dates/Times:\nThursday\, April 9\, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.\nFriday\, April 10\, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.\nSaturday\, April 11\, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.\n\n• Salon Night Saturday\, April 11\, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. See all submitted work\, meet fellow artists\, enjoy food and live music. Enjoy optional peer-to-peer art reviews. Attendance encouraged. All work will be on display during Salon Night on April 11.
