Wire Human Sculpture

Age 9-12 $18
Starting with a basic wire structure our student sculptors will form their person and cover it with paper mache. When dry the pieces will be painted, wrapped in fabric, accented with yarn and colorful wire.

Students will learn the French crochet and Viking knit weave. Make a necklace or a couple of bracelets in this class. Learn what kind of wire works best, the techniques for successful completion of projects. No knitting experience required.
Wire Wrapped Cabochon Lapidary Class with Lindsay Isenhart

Learn to slab, shape and polish a stone cabochon from choices of three soft to medium stones. Learn to use a slab saw, flat lap and wheel lapidary machine in addition to some basic wire wrapping techniques to finish off your cabochon pendant.
Wire Wrapping – Tree of Life On Petoskey Stone with Tim Varboncoeur

Rock hounds can find a new and exciting way to make art from their treasures! Learn from one of our local artists, Tim Varboncoeur, how to wire wrap stone. Using silver wire on provided petoskey stones, Tim will walk you through the materials, tools and techniques used to perform the art of wire wrapping.
These exciting and exploratory art classes are designed to give middle and high school students a chance to learn about art styles and mediums they might not get in a
classroom. All materials provided.
Using pliers, beads, found objects and wire, students will create a beautiful tree of life design wrapped into a frame ready to hang!
Using the artistic technique of continuous line drawing, participants will “draw” using fine gauge wire, loping, crimping and curving it into a defined image.

This class is for the student that is not afraid of a challenge. Each day students will be given a new task and a choice of materials. Perhaps it will be a building constructed from cardboard and found objects or a sculpture from wood and wire. Keep your creative brain charged over the summer and accept this challenge.
