Oil Painting Demystified
Tuesdays, April 16, 23, 30 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

In this 3 week class students will learn to develop an under-painting, block in highlights and shadows, glaze layers and add finishing details using oil painting mediums. Students will be able to chose from several objects to develop two oil based still life paintings, 4” x 4” and 8” x 10”.

Teen Mini Masters – Intro to Oil
Tuesdays, April 16, 23, 30 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Ages 11-18 $25
In this 3 week class students will learn to develop an under-painting, block in highlights and shadows, glaze layers and add finishing details using oil painting mediums. Students will be able to chose from several objects to develop an oil based still life painting on 6” x 6” canvas.

Introduction to Oil Painting with Lindsay Isenhart
Thurs. May 26, June 2, 9 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Ages 16 to Adult
$75 ($70 Members)
Learn to prepare a surface for oils; develop an under painting, build up with glazing, scumbling, ala prima, and impasto techniques; and finish with varnish. Mineral spirits used in class can be an irritant to some.
Introduction to Oil Pastel with Susie Rodriquez
Sat., May 21 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Ages 16 to Adult
$50 ($45 Members)
Learn shading and blending techniques that can be applied to any oil pastel painting. After this class you will confidently start your journey to creating beautiful pastel artwork. Materials provided.
January 4 – February 8 Eric Michaels is a signature member of the Oil Painters of America, the National Watercolor Society, and the Pastel Society of America.
Perhaps the most distinctive feature of Eric Michaels’ work is its eclectic flavor. The subject matter spans four continents and both hemispheres, and his painting in the Historical and Western genres are collected nationally and internationally.
Michaels has exhibited at the Royal Watercolor Society in London and has been a regular exhibitor in the
Artists of America, the Great American Artists and the “Quest for the West” exhibition at the Eiteljorg Museum. His paintings hang in many private, corporate, museum and state collections; including IBM, Honeywell-Sperry Inc., Phillips Petroleum, Puma International, the Albuquerque Museum of Fine Art, Booth Museum of Western Art, the Americana Museum, Haggin Museum, New Mexico State Governor’s Gallery and the Pearce Museum of Western Art.

These introductory classes use simple and similar subjects to explore different fine art mediums in each class. Great way to explore your interests without a huge investment of time and money! All materials provided. November 9 and 16 Block Printing requires students attend both days.

Keep an eye out for Art Glass Sampler series January/February 2018. Students will be sampling easy introductory Stained Glass, Fused Glass, Glass Beads, and Glass Mosaic projects.
