In this class we will work with the basic elements of a winter landscape; sky, snow, trees and sunlight. We will be pouring, spraying, spattering, salting, stamping, and also using brushwork to create a winter scene. Perhaps it will be something you could use for a Christmas card? Several photos will be provided as reference material, but also feel free to bring you own reference photos to work from. We may be working on several scenes during the day in order to let the paintings dry between steps. Bring a lunch.

Matting and Framing Workshop

Learn the art of mat cutting for your own use or to prepare a
gift for a special person. In this workshop you will learn about
mat selection, how to properly measure, cut and mount your
work, and assemble your frame. Each participant should
bring an 8”x10” piece of art or photograph (slightly smaller is
fine) to frame. Some materials provided.

Stunning in Silver with Cristine Grimm

Come and join certified Art Clay instructor, Cristine
Grimm, in exploring Art Clay the clay that turns to
99.9% pure silver when fired. Make earrings or small
pendants with basic techniques that can be used
anywhere, anytime, without a kiln. Cristine is a master
instructor who will bring all the tools and tricks necessary
to create something beautiful! Cost includes silver
clay, the use of all necessary tools, and a necklace and
jump ring for wearing out the door.

Introduction to Leathercraft – The Basic Seven with Roxanne Middleton

Discover the fun of leathercrafting using the basic seven
tools: camouflage, pear shader, beveler, veiner, seeder,
a backgrounder and finally decorative cuts with the
swivel knife. In this class students will create a coaster
size carved and tooled leather piece with experienced instructor
Roxanne Middleton. This is an entry level class
designed to generate an interest in further exploration.

Colored Pencil Workshop: Foxglove with Anita Sams

Capture the beauty of a summer foxglove blossom using
colored pencils. Anita will skillfully guide you through the
variety of pencil techniques such as blending, layering,
and burnishing to create a realistic rendition of a
foxglove. All materials are provided. Bring a lunch.

Dyed Infinity Silk Scarves with Kay Brennan

Create your own fashion statement by designing colorful
infinity scarves. Each person will be able to dye two
pieces using a variety of rich colors. The pieces will be
dyed in class and then washed at home.

This is a perfect opportunity to learn technique and
color theory with artist Sharon Smithem. Each person

ORVIS Fly Tying 101

You’ve always wanted to learn to tie your own flies but just
couldn’t find the time. Now you can get a free two-hour
introductory lesson with expert instruction and all tools
/ materials provided. Fly tying requires no special skills,
anyone can learn it, and with a few hours of practice each
week you’ll be cranking out terrific flies by spring. Tying
your own flies adds so much to the fun of fly fishing and
adds a whole new dimension to the experience. To help
you on your way, students in our free class are entitled
to a special discount on tools, materials, and fly-tying kits
